Gold Coast’s Coomera Quays sales to meet surging demand

Date Released - April 11, 2016.

The developers of the long-awaited Coomera Quays, the Gold Coast’s newest waterfront residential estate, have received significant interest from buyers being driven by the area’s projected population boom and the resurging demand for coastal suburban living.

QM Properties’ much-anticipated new estate will deliver 54 new homes—including 48 with direct water frontage—to the rapidly-expanding Coomera area, where the population is expected to grow from 9,075 residents in 2011 to almost 50,000 by 2026.

QM Properties General Sales Manager Damien Ross said the rarity of new canal estates on the Gold Coast was motivating many buyers.

“Coomera Quays could be one of the city’s last developed waterfront canal estates. A high level of interest was expected, particularly with the starting price point of $370,000 for a dry lot and $680,000 for waterfront, coupled with the buyers’ ability to purchase freehold land within an estate environment,” Mr Ross said.

“However, our expectations have definitely been exceeded with almost ten per cent of lots already under contract.

“Four lots sold have been snapped up by existing Coomera residents, with locals moving quickly to upgrade to a premium waterfront address and secure land for a larger home, as lots range in size from 616m2 to 1,143m2.

“Coomera Quays is adjacent to the Coomera Waters Marina precinct and more than 70 per cent of lots feature pontoon access to the Coomera River, which is a major drawcard for those looking for easy access to the Gold Coast Broadwater, as well as the nearby islands and resorts.”

According to Mr Ross, the Coomera market has been further stimulated by increased infrastructure spending and tourism-related news.

“Interstate and international enquiries for Coomera Quays have focused on the quality of the lifestyle on offer, as well as recent investments in nearby infrastructure, education and tourism opportunities,” Mr Ross said.

“Coomera has benefitted from reports of a potential new theme park and infrastructure spending, such as the Coomera Town Centre and Exit 54 upgrades, and the upcoming 2018 Commonwealth Games, along with the Gold Coast’s reputation for relative housing affordability.”

QM Properties is the market leader in master planned and waterfront communities, including Pacific Harbour on Bribie Island, Noosa Waters and nearby Gold Coast communities Coomera Waters, Coomera Retreat and Pacific Cove.
